A 20-year-old hotel employee told officers that the woman had jumped over the counter and struck the clerk after the woman had been denied a room.
Police learned that before the assault, the woman had tried to rent a room online and at the hotel.
“The suspect became argumentative and began yelling at the clerk after the credit card was denied,” said Dundee police. “The woman was warned that 911 was going to be called, however the woman continued to cause a disturbance.”
The woman jumped over the counter and began attacking the hotel clerk as they tried to call 911, which caused the call not to go through.
As the worker called 911 after the attack, the suspect left the hotel with her nine children.
Police used surveillance footage and credit card information to identify the suspect.
