Michigan man convicted of selling fentanyl that caused overdose death

Man to be sentenced in February

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. – A Michigan man has been convicted of selling fentanyl to a person who later died from an overdose.

A federal jury convicted Antjuan Pierre Jackson, 39, of Kalamazoo, of distribution of fentanyl causing death and possession of 40 grams or more of fentanyl with intent to distribute.

Prosecutors said that on Nov. 23, 2022, Jackson sold fentanyl to the victim. The victim died from an overdose. In December 2022, investigators found Jackson with more than 80 grams of fentanyl in his home. They also found cash, a digital scale, a cell phone, and packaging materials.

Jackson will be sentenced on Feb. 27, 2025.
