Michigan man killed on I-75 while helping friend change flat tire

A 22-year-old Saginaw man was killed after being struck by a car when he was helping his friend change a flat tire on the shoulder of I-75.

The crash happened at about 7:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12, on southbound I-75 near Baker Road.

The 22-year-old, who had driven to the scene to help his friend change a flat tire, was in between their vehicles on the shoulder of the freeway changing the tire when he was hit.

An 80-year-old Bay City man driving a 2015 Chevrolet pickup truck had crashed into both vehicles and the 22-year-old.

The Saginaw man was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died from his injuries.

The Bay City man was also taken to a hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

Michigan State Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
