In August, the 44-year-old pleaded guilty to one count of conducting a criminal enterprise and was ordered to pay $27.284.31 in restitution.

Juan Miguel Rodriguez-Venegas, 56, of Florida, was sentenced to two to 20 years for the same crime in September.

In March 2024, the Midland County Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against Rodriguez and Rodriguez-Venegas jointly with the Department of Attorney General.
