Officials said the 34-year-old woman failed to stop at the stop sign for Dixie Highway.

Her vehicle struck a 2023 GMC Sierra pickup truck driven by a 64-year-old Groveland Township man northbound on Dixie Highway.

Both vehicles ended up off the road and into some trees. The Equinox came to rest on its side against the trees.

Vilders was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck and his 61-year-old passenger were both taken to the hospital by Springfield Township and Groveland Township Fire Department paramedics, where they were listed in stable condition.

Officials say all parties involved were wearing seatbelts. An autopsy for Vilders is pending.

Alcohol use is unknown, but the incident is being investigated by the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Unit.
