Drier start across Metro Detroit this morning, but cool. However, any lingering dampness from last night’s snow showers that melted could be re-freezing and creating some slick patches on elevated surfaces like ramps, bridges and overpasses. Clouds continue to linger and winds are picking up.
Breezy today with peak gusts around 30mph midday. Scattered to numerous lake effect rain showers are also likely today, mainly for areas east of US-23/I-75, more specifically in the Thumb region. Near average today through the weekend with highs in the upper 40s.
Sunset is at 5:06 p.m.
Dry weather returns for the weekend, but the thick cloud layer will stick around. Another low pressure system looking to develop over the region Monday could bring additional rain chances and brief shot at milder air with forecasted highs on Monday in the low 50s. We will then dip into the low 40s by Tuesday. Mostly cloudy with highs around 40 on the busy travel day, Wednesday. There is a chance for showers late. Trending below average on Thanksgiving with highs in the upper 30s. As of right now, there is a chance for showers or even freezing drizzle on Thanksgiving, but we are far enough out that the forecast could change. However, temperatures trends are favorable for temperatures to be below average.
