On a day like Friday, wind chill readings below the freezing mark go hand-in-hand with something we’re seeing on the roads in the morning. We’re getting reports of some black ice forming in a couple of patchy spots. So you want to use caution out there.
The air temperature could be right around the freezing mark, if not below it, and those road temperatures might be reported just above freezing.
But if you get that cooler air that blows underneath the elevated surfaces, that creates icier conditions a lot quicker than on an average roadway.
Road temperatures on Nov. 22 are being reported at or below the freezing mark across Southeast Michigan. So, if anything looks damp out there, it might actually be frozen.
