LINCOLN PARK, Mich. – A suspect was arrested Tuesday afternoon after allegedly shooting a Lincoln Park police officer.
Michigan State Police said a shoot-out broke out between a suspect in a narcotics investigation, and police.
An officer was shot in the leg near Fort Street and Outer Drive. They are in stable condition. The suspect was also struck and is in stable condition. Neither have been identified.
Investigators have a portion of Outer Drive blocked off as they collect evidence near the old hospital building.
A silver pick-up truck was also being towed from the scene.
Officers from multiple agencies, including Southgate, Trenton, River Rouge, Woodhaven and Detroit also responded to the shooting.
Michigan State Police posted an update on social media and said they Special Investigation Section was “requested for officer shot and suspect shot.”
