OAKLAND COUNTY, Mich. – A Commerce Township man was found guilty of killing his wife in 2021.
Tatiana Vuichard, 59, of Commerce Township, didn’t show up for work on May 17, 2021. Oakland County deputies were then called at 10:46 a.m. to do a welfare check, according to authorities.

Tatiana was an administrative assistant for the Novi Community School District, police said. She had worked with the district for 30 years.
When deputies arrived at her home in the 4100 block of Chesapeake Circle, they found a comforter covering something on the bathroom floor. When police asked Tatiana’s husband, Vincent Floyd Vuichard, what was under the covers, he said his wife.
An autopsy revealed Tatiana died from multiple slash and stab wounds, authorities said. Her death was officially ruled a homicide.
Vincent was arrested and charged with First-Degree Murder.
During the six-day trial period, Vincent asserted an insanity defense. 12 jurors deliberated for less than a day before rejecting that defense and found Vincent guilty.
“Tanya Vuichard was a mother, grandmother, friend, and coworker – her senseless murder is a huge loss to the community,” said Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. “My office spent the last three years working alongside her children to get justice for Tanya, and I applaud the trial team for securing a first-degree murder conviction in this very difficult case.”
Vincent is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 6, 2025. First-Degree Murder carries a mandatory life in prison sentence.
