As people get ready for their Thanksgiving celebrations, figuring out the food is an important part of preparing for the holiday.
But when it comes to the food this year, there are a few recalls you should know about.
Ground beef recall
Ground beef from a Detroit-based company was recently recalled in connection to an E. coli outbreak that sickened at least 15 people in Minnesota.
About 167,277 pounds of ground beef from Wolverine Packing Co. were recalled because they may be contaminated with e. Coli.
The fresh ground beef products have a use-by date of Nov. 14, and frozen products with a production date of Oct. 22 have been recalled by Wolverine Packing Co. The recalled products also have the establishment number “EST.2574B” on the packaging.
The recalled beef was shipped to restaurants across the country.

Carrot recall
Health officials are also investigating an E.coli outbreak linked to organic carrots.
On Nov. 16, Grimmway Farms recalled organic whole and baby carrots with best-by dates that range from Sept. 11 to Nov. 12.
The brands of carrots impacted by this recall include the following:
- 365
- Bunny Luv
- Cal-Organic
- Compliments
- Full Circle
- Good & Gather
- GreenWise
- Grimmway Farms
- Marketside
- Nature’s Promise
- O-Organic
- President’s Choice
- Raley’s
- Simple Truth
- Sprouts
- Trader Joe’s
- Wegmans
- Wholesome Pantry
One person has died and several people across 18 states, including Michigan, have gotten sick.

Ready-to-eat meat and poultry products
Yu Shang Food, Inc., of South Carolina, recalled 72,240 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products because they may be contaminated with listeria.
On Nov. 21, FSIS officials expanded the recall to include all products produced before Oct. 28.
The products have the establishment numbers “P-46684“ or “EST. M46684.” A full list of products can be found here.
These recalled products were sent to retail locations across the U.S. and sold online.
An infant in California has died and at least 10 other people have gotten sick in an outbreak of listeria food poisoning connected to these recalled products.
