GROSSE POINTE, Mich. – A Metro Detroit nonprofit is finding a new space to call home along East Jefferson Boulevard.
The Full Circle Foundation unveiled its new signage on Monday (Dec. 2).
The nonprofit is letting the public know it will be moving into two former medical buildings and transforming them into its new campus.
“This state-of-the-art facility will open up countless new and innovative opportunities for adults with special needs in our community,” said Stephanie Divirgile, Director of Operations for Full Circle Foundation.
The organization launched 15 years ago in partnership with the Grosse Pointe School System.
Its mission is to create jobs, training, and life-skill opportunities for adults with special needs across the Grosse Pointe communities.
Divirgile said one building will become the Full Circle Foundation’s new upscale resale shop and café. Its team will sell clothing for men, women, and children, in addition to small furniture.
The second building will have expanded space for classrooms and programming, which the nonprofit and its clients rely on daily.
“We are so grateful and lucky to be able to know that we will have a place to come see our friends, learn new skills for a job in the future, sing in our choir, have fun, and be part of our community,” said Gavin Monaghan, a member of Team 26.
Organizers said the Full Circle Foundation’s new space was made possible by a generous donation from the A.A. Van Elslander Foundation. The new campus shares the names of both organizations.
“I like it,” said Ryan Sandals. “I like being with my friends.”
Supporters like Sandals, who gained work skills through the Full Circle Foundation, believe more young adults with autism and other developmental disorders will be able to get access to a wide range of resources through the nonprofit at its new campus.
