ROYAL OAK, Mich. – A 59-year-old man from Royal Oak was sentenced to federal prison for the distribution of child porn.
According to authorities, David Eric Yellen had used peer-to-peer file-sharing software to distribute images of child pornography over the internet.
Yellen had worked as a photographer and videographer at multiple youth gymnastics events over several years.
A search of Yellen’s house in 2023 revealed more than two million files of child pornography on his devices and more than 50,000 photographs he had taken of children’s bare feet at gyms and gymnastic events where he had worked.

Yellen pleaded guilty in May to the distribution of child pornography. He was sentenced Tuesday, Dec. 3, to 84 months in federal prison followed by 10 years of supervised release.
