If you’re still working on your fabulous Christmas display, don’t worry. You have until Thursday, Dec. 12 to email up to four well-lit photos of your display to adamsm@shelbytwp.org.

Submissions will be displayed from Dec. 13 through Dec. 19 on the Shelby Township Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Department’s official social media.

The township will also feature the submitted displays on its website with a special Christmas light display map, allowing residents and visitors to tour the best displays throughout the holiday season.

The winners will be announced on the Shelby TV Christmas Lights Show on Dec. 20 on YouTube. First and second-place winners will receive bragging rights and a special feature on Shelby TV.

“We’re looking for homes that go above and beyond, whether it’s a dazzling light show, a classic winter wonderland or a unique twist on holiday décor,” said Parks, Recreation and Maintenance Director Joe Youngblood. “I’m always amazed at the lengths our residents go to, and the amount of Christmas cheer displayed throughout the township.”

The competition is only for residential homes. Commercial properties are not allowed.
