Medical emergency leads to car driving into Meijer store

A car crashed into a Meijer in Kent County on Dec. 5, 2024. (WDIV)

CASCADE TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Four people were injured Thursday morning when a car drove into a Meijer outside Grand Rapids.

It happened at about 9:30 a.m. at the Meijer on 28th Street in Cascade Township. Authorities believe the driver -- a 29-year-old man from Grand Rapids -- had a medical emergency and drove through the store’s windows.

Four people suffered minor injuries and they are expected to be OK.

The injuries of the driver remain unknown.
