Officials: Medical emergency likely led to Tesla crash in Plymouth

Driver is expected to survive

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – Police say a medical emergency involving a 67-year-old driver likely led to the crash in Plymouth involving a Tesla.

The crash occurred on Thursday (Dec. 5) on Ann Arbor Road near South Main Street.

Investigators say the Tesla reached 100 miles per hour as it left the road before the crash.

Officials say the car clipped a mailbox, hit a telephone pole, and split in half.

Police say the 67-year-old driver is expected to survive.
