Wayne County man faces human trafficking, prostitution charges

Prosecutors say man ran ‘house of prostitution’ out of Wayne County home

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A man is facing multiple charges after prosecutors say he operated a “house of prostitution” out of his Wayne County home.

Michael Richard Navoy, 70, of Allen Park, is facing several charges in connection with the human trafficking and prostitution of women.

“It is alleged that defendant Navoy engaged in human trafficking and operating a house of prostitution in Southgate, Michigan,” said Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy. “As a result of the combined efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies working together, this defendant will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

On Oct. 1, 2024, Michigan State Police detectives were assisting an investigation into human trafficking in Maumee, Ohio, that involved Navoy.

Navoy has been charged with the following:

  • Accepting earnings of a prostitute (Maximum penalty 20 years in prison);
  • Human trafficking – Forced labor resulting in commercial sexual activity (Maximum penalty 15 years in prison);
  • Human trafficking – Forced labor (Maximum penalty in prison 10 years);
  • Using a computer to commit the crime of forced labor resulting in commercial sexual activity (Maximum penalty 10-20 years in prison); and
  • Keeping a house of prostitution (Maximum penalty 5 years in prison).

Navoy was arrested by Michigan State Police on Dec. 6, 2024. He is expected to be arraigned on Sunday, Dec. 8, 2024.

The investigation is ongoing.
