OGEMAW COUNTY, Mich. – Authorities are investigating after a woman was stabbed to death in Northern Michigan on Sunday.
At 12:55 p.m. on Dec. 8, Ogemaw County deputies were called to a home in Rose City after receiving a report of a domestic situation with a knife.
When they arrived, they found a 54-year-old woman with knife and stab wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the sheriff’s office.
A male was taken into custody without incident.
“There is no active threat to the community at this time as this incident involved persons known to each other and a suspect is in custody,” the Ogemaw County Sheriff’s Office said.
The investigation is ongoing, but once complete, the case will be sent to the prosecutor’s office for review.
Ogemaw County deputies were assisted by the Ogemaw County Dispatch Center, Ogemaw County EMS, Michigan State Police troopers from the West Branch Post and Crime Lab and West Branch police officers.
