NOVI, Mich. – An Asian-themed, mixed-used development in Oakland County has announced three new stores to its lineup.

Construction on Sakura Novi is underway, with the apartments to be ready for occupancy in February 2025, and the first restaurants scheduled to open in May 2025.

As work continues, the development announced the addition of the following three new stores that will be featured in the space.

Teso Life

Teso Life is a Japanese-themed department store that features snacks, cosmetics, homeware, kitchenware, stationary, toy collectibles and more.

The 12,000-square-foot store will be the first Teso Life location in Michigan, but the company currently has 15 stores in New York, Texas, Arizona and Georgia, and 15 more being developed in New Jersey, Maryland, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Florida and Virginia.

Paris Baguette

The 3,000-square-foot store at Sakura Novi will be the third Paris Baguette location in Michigan.

The Korean-owned bakery, which specializes in French and Asian pastries and baked goods, has 3,785 stores in South Korea, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, and Indonesia, and 105 stores in the U.S. and Canada.

Klawsome!

Klawsome! will be Michigan’s first stand-alone claw machine arcade.

“This type of arcade features the opportunity to win kawaii style stuffies from vibrantly colored claw machines,” according to the release. “Those stuffies can then be traded in for larger/more rare stuffed animals and anime figurines.”

Restaurants at Sakura Novi

The three new stores join the previously announced restaurants of Mikiya Wagyu Shabu House by the Chubby Cattle Group, Dancing Pine Korean Steak House, and Presotea Taiwanese boba tea shop.

The first restaurants will open in May 2025.

Open retail space is still available for sushi, ramen and breakfast restaurants, other food services, and businesses in the beauty, wellness or fitness industries.

Residences at Sakura Novi

The Residences at Sakura Novi, an apartment complex managed by KMG Prestige, will also be available at the development.

There will be 117 luxurious, three-story townhomes, according to the release, and they are leasing for occupancy starting in February 2025.

The units range in size from 1,331 square feet to 1,765 square feet, will be either two or three bedrooms and have garages that fit either one or two cars.

Amenities will also include a Japanese-themed garden with a pond, a natural sensory garden and play area, and a public plaza for community events.
