Gas prices in Michigan rise above $3 a gallon

State average up 10 cents from last week

Gas prices across Michigan are up to above $3 per gallon, an increase of about 10 cents from this time last week, according to AAA Michigan.

Motorists are now paying an average of $45 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, with Metro Detroit drivers seeing an average of $3.02 per gallon.

This is 13 cents less than last month, but five cents more than the average gas prices at this time last year.

Gasoline demand increased from 8.73 million b/d to 8.81, about 50,000 b/d lower than in the same week in 2023, according to data from the Energy Information Administration. Domestic gas stocks increased from 214.6 million barrels to 219.7.

  • Traverse City ($2.92)
  • Marquette ($2.98)
  • Benton Harbor ($3.02)
