Department of Homeland Security confirms drone sightings across US pose no security risk

FBI has received over 5K reports about drones

The Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the FAA, and the Department of Defense are responding to reported drone sightings across the United States.

The FBI says it has received over 5,000 reports about drones in the last few weeks.

Officials say after careful analysis, the reports include a combination of commercial drones, hobbyist drones, law enforcement drones, planes, and helicopters.

Authorities add that drones do not pose a national security threat.
