Iconic Temple Bar in Detroit to reopen after partial collapse

DETROIT – A popular bar in Midtown Detroit will reopen Tuesday, Dec. 17, after closing in May when part of the building collapsed.

On May 24, part of the front of the Temple Bar, located on Cass Avenue, crashed onto the sidewalk below. The building was closed indefinitely for repairs.

After the community helped raise nearly $24,000 for the rebuild of the 97-year-old building, Temple Bar shared on social media that it would reopen to normal service starting Tuesday.
