We need to bundle up as we’re cooling things off compared to the milder days recently.
We stay dry on Tuesday, but starting at midnight, there will be some precipitation chances.
Wednesday
This is mainly going to be a mix, however, those in the Thumb region will have more snow than rain.
The wintry mix is expected to begin at the tail-end of the morning rush hour drive on Wednesday before changing over to rain. That washes away anything that possibly sticks except for the Thumb region.
Late Thursday into Friday morning
Most of the Metro Detroit area will see some snow starting late Thursday night. This could be an accumulation maker for us.
We will start to see the snow roll in overnight, and that’s going to last through Friday morning.
Early models say anywhere from an inch to two inches of snow is possible across Southeast Michigan.
This weekend
Temperatures tumble this weekend with highs in the 20s, with single-digit wind chills likely.
We welcome Winter officially this Saturday with a high of 25.
White Christmas?
We will start a warming trend heading into Christmas. We will have to see if the Friday snow sticks around, with highs possibly reaching the mid to upper 30s on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
