DETROIT – Five people have been arrested in connection to the armed robbery of an Amazon delivery driver in Detroit, police said.
The robbery happened at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the 5700 block of Courville.
An Amazon driver told officers that she was delivering packages when a car pulled in front of her and three suspects dressed in black announced that a robbery was happening, according to police.
The suspects took several packages from the Amazon truck before they left the area in a dark-colored SUV.
On Wednesday, Dec. 18, police released an update and said five people had been arrested, and state police released a video of the arrest on social media on Thursday, Dec. 19.

Detroit officers located the suspect vehicle and a Michigan State Police helicopter continued to track the car when it fled, according to state police.
Three people got out of the vehicle and carried items to a house in Eastpointe, state police said. The vehicle then picked up the three people and fled the area.
Video shows that the suspect vehicle eventually came to a stop, and five people got out and ran away from the car.
All five were taken into custody.
