1 person dies, others recovering from injuries following ‘random’ shooting in Oxford

OXFORD, Mich. – One person has died from their injuries, and the two other victims are recovering after a shooting in Oxford on Christmas Eve, according to authorities.

The shooting happened just after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 24, on Ray Road between Lapeer and N. Oxford Roads.

When deputies arrived at the scene, they found three people with gunshot wounds.

They were all taken to hospitals to be treated for their injuries. The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office said on Dec. 25 that one person had died from their injuries.

The sheriff’s office said the shooting appeared to be “completely random, with the suspect just passing through.”

A suspect was arrested Tuesday night, and a gun was recovered.
