Dreams skyrocket as Mega Millions jackpot hits $1.15B

DETROIT – Over a billion dollars are at stake with the Mega Millions jackpot now reaching an amount of $1.15 billion for Friday’s drawing.

“In the economy that we have right now, everybody is looking for that big bang. I believe it has my name written all over it right now,“ said Renee Drake.

For some, it’s the ultimate adrenaline rush of “What if?” Terrance Burney literally has it all mapped out.

“I would, after playing my 60% for taxes, I would give 20% to charity, 10 to community and the rest to family and friend to stimulate the economy - especially here in Detroit and all over the world,” Terrance explained.

Renee has a pretty simple strategy.

“I’ve been using the same numbers. I got them from this old recipe which is a Chinese cookie,” Renee added.

While tickets fly off the shelves all over the country, the last time someone bought a winning mega millions ticket was for $810M in the state of Texas.

“I can’t get it. I just can’t get it. People in Detroit don’t hit. We got to go outside of the city. So, I go to the suburbs to play the lottery,” said Redell Irving.

You can always dream about what’s to come.

“I even have my manifestation clothes on because I believe I’m going to win the billion, I’m a billionaire,” said Terrance.
