Detroit police seek suspect who allegedly snatched woman’s purse

DETROIT – The Detroit Police Department is searching for a suspect who allegedly stole a purse from a woman last week.

The robbery happened at about 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 18, in the 4400 block of Sobieski Street.

Police say the suspect approached the woman from behind and snatched her purse off her shoulder.

After the robbery, the suspect ran northbound on Justine Street.

The suspect is described as being a man who is about 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a heavy build and a medium complexion, according to police.

He was wearing a gray sweatsuit and a black vest with red writing on the back during the robbery.
