REDFORD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police are investigating after a 62-year-old man was struck and killed on Telegraph Road in Redford Township.

At 1:08 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 28, 2024, officers were called to the area of Telegraph Road and Midland Avenue for reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

Police said when officers arrived they discovered that a 62-year-old man had been struck on southbound Telegraph Road. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with the investigation. Police said neither alcohol nor drugs appear to be a factor.

Investigators are looking into the possibility that another vehicle struck the man and left the scene of the crash. It is unknown if there was a second vehicle involved or not, police said.

Witnesses are asked to contact the RTPD Traffic Bureau at 313-387-2541.

The man’s identity has been determined, but police are not releasing that information to the public until they contact the man’s family.
