DETROIT – The Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office has denied a warrant request for singer Nicki Minaj.
The initial investigation stems from a lawsuit over an incident that reportedly happened in Detroit when she performed at Little Caesars Arena in April 2024. It was during that leg of her tour, that a former employee claimed she assaulted him.
According to TMZ, a lawsuit filed by her former manager Brandon Garrett, claims Minaj assaulted him after a concert in Detroit during her “Pink Friday 2 World Tour.” Garrett alleges she flew into a rage when she learned he had sent someone else to pick up a prescription for her and hit him in the face.
After an investigation, a warrant was sent to the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office, which announced Monday, Jan. 6, that the warrant request was denied due to insufficient evidence that a crime was committed.
A lawyer representing the rapper told TMZ the lawsuit reported by TMZ is completely false and frivolous.
