Although we’re catching a break from the winter storm in the south, two chances for snow are coming to Metro Detroit throughout this week.
Lake effect snow showers will develop Tuesday night as the Great Lakes remain behind in icing over leading to more lake effect potential than usual this time of year.
The first round of snow is on Wednesday afternoon with possible isolated to scattered snow showers. This could leave some minor accumulation along and southwest of the Howell and Detroit line. As of Tuesday morning, weather models show there could be less than a half inch of snow expected.
There will be light snow moving in from the southwest Friday evening. Local 4 will be keeping an eye on exactly how much snow is expected throughout the week, but so far, only some light snow is expected on Friday.
Frigid temperatures continue
Temperatures remain below average through the week, with the coldest temperatures expected Wednesday night, with wind chills below zero starting the day Thursday morning.
