Ashley Elkins was last seen by her family leaving her home in Warren on Jan. 2.

Her family said they received sporadic and odd texts from the mother of two on that day.

Elkin’s mother, Monika Elkins, arrived at her daughter’s home at about 8:45 a.m., roughly 10 minutes after she left. About 15 minutes later, Monika Elkins sent her daughter a text.

She said she had been meaning to tell Ashley Elkins about a dream she had about her. In the dream, Ashley came and took her mom’s truck and left her car in the driveway, but when Monika checked, the car was gone. It was later found in the dream in a grassy area with the trunk and hood open.

Monika said when she finally shared the dream with Ashley, her daughter responded, “Awe, man.”

She allegedly replied almost immediately. Monika tried to call her daughter after her reply, but Ashley didn’t answer.

Hours later, another family member said they received a text from Ashley saying she was going to a specific beauty supply store. Her phone was then turned off and then turned back on, but the family said they hadn’t heard from her since.

According to her phone, her last known location was at her ex-boyfriend’s residence, an apartment complex near the intersection of Pinehurst Street and 10 Mile Road in Roseville.

The apartment is currently being treated as a crime scene by police.
