Man accused of shooting at Highland Police officer’s house 2 different times in 1 night

MOUNT CLEMENS, Mich. – A 21-year-old from Detroit is facing charges after reportedly shooting at a Warren home twice.

The shootings happened at the home of a Highland Park police officer on Sunday, Jan. 5, and Monday, Jan. 6.

According to authorities. Dashawun Lewis visited the house late Sunday and shot at the house five times, damaging the home and a vehicle. He then came back hours later and shot at the home again and two people outside. A third person was inside the home at the time.

Warren police officers were able to find Lewis a few blocks away using a drone.

For the Sunday shooting, Lewis was charged with discharge of a firearm at a building, receiving and concealing a firearm, malicious destruction of personal property and felony firearm. His bond was set at $300,000.

For the early Monday shooting, Lewis was charged with three counts of assault with intent to murder, discharge of a firearm at a building, receiving and concealing a firearm, malicious destruction of personal property and felony firearm. For these charges, his bond was set at $600,000.
