Woman who reportedly bit officer after deadly Macomb County crash charged with murder

WARREN, Mich. – A 27-year-old woman is facing additional charges in connection with a fatal crash in Warren.

According to authorities, police were called to the intersection of Mound and Chicago roads on Dec. 21, on reports of a crash involving a Ford Escape and a Chevrolet Silverado. When an officer approached the Escape, it was reportedly empty. Witnesses directed the officer to a woman on the sidewalk, claiming she was the driver and was drunk.

When the officer approached the woman to check for injuries, she reportedly resisted and bit the officer.

The driver of the Silverado -- identified as 69-year-old Christopher Andelean -- died from his injuries in the crash.

Diamond Leann Glenn, a resident of Harrison Township, was taken into custody and was initially charged with assaulting/resisting/obstructing a police officer. Her bond was set at $100,000 cash.

After the Warren Police Department finished its investigation, Glenn was charged Thursday, Jan. 9, with second-degree murder and attempted failure to stop at the scene resulting in death. Her bond was raised to $500,000.

Glenn’s probable cause hearing is set for Jan. 23.
