A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of Southeastern Michigan beginning 1 p.m. on Friday until 1 a.m. on Saturday.
Snow affecting afternoon/evening commute
Peak snowfall rates are expected during the evening rush hour on Friday, roughly between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m.
During that timeframe, rates in excess of a quarter inch per hour are possible, resulting in accumulations of 1 to 2 inches within a few hours.
This snowmaker will be more impactful by Friday evening. The cold weather is here to stay, as well.
Snow lessens in intensity overnight, with total accumulations by early Saturday morning between 2 and 4 inches for areas within the advisory.
