Detroit dispensary caught selling marijuana to minors, operating without license, police say

DETROIT – A dispensary in Detroit was busted for allegedly selling marijuana to minors and issued citations, police said.

On Thursday, Jan. 9, 2025, Vice Enforcement and Eleventh Precinct Special Operations officers executed a search warrant at a dispensary in the 8000 block of E. 7 Mile Road.

Police had received a tip that the dispensary had been selling marijuana to minors.

During the search, authorities confiscated 91,541.5 grams of marijuana, 453.5 grams of mushrooms, $737 in cash and two guns.

Two employees were detained. They were issued citations for operating a business without a license and having over two and a half ounces of marijuana, according to police.

“We prioritize protecting our youth from substances, especially those that are illegal and potentially harmful to their development,” the Detroit Police Department. “Great job officers for keeping our youth safe.”
