Winter weather advisory issued for Metro Detroit until Tuesday afternoon -- what to know

A winter weather advisory was issued for Livingston, Macomb, Oakland, St. Clair, Washtenaw and Wayne counties Tuesday morning.

The advisory is in effect until 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14. 1-3″ of snow accumulation is possible in the Metro Detroit area, with some places seeing higher snowfall totals where bands of snow are more intense through Tuesday afternoon.

Naked man breaks into Monroe County home and assaults homeowner twice before arrest, says sheriff

A man was arrested Monday for allegedly breaking into a Monroe County home and assaulting the homeowner twice.

The incident unfolded on Jan. 13, 2025, just before 8:30 p.m. when Monroe County authorities received numerous 911 calls about a naked man at the entrance of a business in the 8800 block of Swan Creek Road. Callers reported he was saying odd things and acting strange before running away and leaving his vehicle behind.

While deputies were searching for the man, another 911 call was received from a resident near the 3600 block of Law Street. The caller reported a man, who matched the same description as the man the deputies were searching for, broke into the resident’s home and assaulted them.

Michigan Senate Republican Leader Nesbitt launches run for governor

Michigan Senate Republican Leader Aric Nesbitt announced early Tuesday morning he is running for governor.

Nesbitt was elected to serve as a state senator in 2018. He currently serves Michigan’s 20th Senate District, which represents portions of Berrien, Van Buren, Allegan and Kent counties.

According to his campaign website, he aims to “Make Michigan Great Once Again” as governor and claims a conservative leadership is needed to restore the state’s government that puts Michigan families and workers first.

I know. I know. And you can relax. Nowhere in this article will I use the two-word term describing the NFL’s final game of the season, nor will I predict or guarantee any such outcome.
