DETROIT – A woman is wanted by police after she allegedly assaulted a Detroit dollar store employee while taking items from the store, police said.
The assault happened at 5:20 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 27, 2024, at a dollar store in the 14300 block of Harper Avenue.
Police say the suspect, a woman known as “Cheryl,” took merchandise from the store without paying.
When she tried to leave the store, an employee told her to put what she had taken back.
That’s when the suspect allegedly pulled out a box cutter and assaulted the employee, before leaving the store.
The employee, a 32-year-old woman, was treated at the scene.
