PORT HURON, Mich. – Police are trying to figure out how a vehicle fire is connected to a man found dead with multiple gunshot wounds early Tuesday morning.

Port Huron police initially responded to the 3000 block of Vanness Street just after midnight on Jan. 28, 2025, for a report of a vehicle fire. With the help of the Port Huron Fire Department, they were able to put out the flames.

Shortly after, police responded to the 2500 block of Vanness Street for a report of a man who may have been shot. When they arrived, they found a 35-year-old man dead with multiple gunshot wounds.

Investigators believe the vehicle fire may have been a result of arson. They are working to determine if the suspected arson and homicide are connected.
