TROY, Mich. – A man who police believe is connected to multiple home invasions in Troy has been arrested.

At around noon on Friday, Jan. 24, officers responded to the 2100 block of E. Big Beaver Road after receiving a report of a home invasion.

After investigating, officers arrested Brian Maurice Kellum, 41, during a traffic stop at about 1:30 p.m. that same day.

Kellum is believed to be linked to other home invasions in Troy and the surrounding area, according to police.

He was arraigned Monday on two counts of second-degree home invasion and driving while license suspended. He was given a $100,000 bond.

Kellum’s arrest followed an investigation by the Special Investigations Unit, which is comprised of officers from the Auburn Hills, Birmingham, Bloomfield Township, Royal Oak and Troy police departments.

“The Troy Police Department encourages residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity,” police said in a release. “Tips from the community can play a crucial role in any investigation.”
