Go 4 It: Help us Send Some Love with cards for those who need them during winter blues

You’re invited to help us make cards, letters for seniors, active military, and foster children

Local 4's Send Some Love Go 4 It event in February 2025. (WDIV)

OAK PARK, Mich. – This time of year, it can be hard to escape the winter blues. But even the smallest light can brighten someone’s day.

That’s why Local 4 is inviting you to help make cards and letters for seniors, active military members, and foster children during this month’s Go 4 It event.

Kindness is contagious, and a single smile can lift someone’s spirit and remind them that they’re never alone, even in the coldest moments.

This winter, let’s create a ripple effect of joy and do something nice for someone.

We are holding a letter-writing and card-making event where people can sign up to come and make letters and cards for seniors, active-duty military, and foster care children.

Local 4 has teamed up with The Detroit Area Agency on Aging, A Million Thanks and The Ennis Center for Children Inc. These agencies will get your cards and letters into the correct hands.

Use this sign-up genius to sign up for an hour with friends, family or meet some new friends. We will have supplies and instructions. If you have arts and crafts supplies to donate, please bring those along, too! No glitter, please!

Event details

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 25, 2025.

It’s at the Oak Park Community Center, at 14300 Oak Park Boulevard in Oak Park.
