Police dashcam captures teens arrest after carjacking, high-speed chase in Southfield

Teen was hit by police cruiser while fleeing

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – Southfield police have arrested 19-year-old Hubbie Marion, who they said carjacked a resident last week before leading police on a high-speed pursuit.

The incident occurred in the area of Negaunee Street and Shiawassee Road on Friday (Jan. 31).

Marion, according to Southfield police, approached the victim in their driveway and demanded their car.

Police identified and chased the stolen car down before Marion crashed it into a ditch.

Seen in the dashcam video was Marion trying to run away with a gun before being hit by one of the police cruisers as officers were able to take him into custody.

Marion has been charged with multiple felonies:

  • Felony carjacking
  • 3 counts of felony firearm
  • Felony flee and elude 3rd degree
  • Felony weapons, carrying concealed
  • Felony assault with a dangerous weapon (FA)
  • 2 counts of felony resisting and obstructing a police officer
  • Drove while license suspended

The 19-year-old’s bond was set at $500,000 cash/surety, and his next court date is Feb. 14 at 9 a.m.
