DETROIT – A portion of Jefferson Avenue in Downtown Detroit will be closed this weekend for the installation of a crane, officials said.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said westbound Jefferson Avenue will be closed from Randolph, near the Renaissance Center, to Griswold, in the area of Hart Plaza.

The closure will be in place from 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 8, through 8 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 9.

During this closure, crews will install a crane for building construction on Woodward Avenue.

According to MDOT, there will be a crossover open on westbound Jefferson Avenue to access parking lots and the Detroit-Windsor tunnel.
