Police said man sold woman’s fathers 14K gold rope chain to pawn shop for $200

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Glenn Richards, 52, of Bloomfield Township, was arrested after police said he stole a 14K gold rope chain from a statue that was inside a woman’s bathroom while doing floor repair.

The incident occurred on Dec. 21, 2024, when the woman said she noticed that the chain was missing after Richards was repairing her bathroom.

Police said Richards sold the woman’s father’s 14K gold rope chain to a pawn shop for $200.

The Bloomfield Township Police Department took a report of larceny in the building on Jan. 18, 2025.

On Feb. 5, 2025, the Oakland County Prosecutors Offices issued a one-count felony warrant for larceny in a building against Richards.

Officials said Richards was arrested on his felony warrant and was arraigned at 48th District Court on Feb. 6, 2025.

Richards was given a $25,000 personal bond and was released from custody.
