Man arrested in Southfield fatal shooting, victim found in parking lot with gunshot wound to head

The Southfield Police Department arrested a 28-year-old man who was involved in the fatal shooting of a person who was found dead in a parking lot after being shot in the head. (WDIV)

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Southfield Police Department arrested a 28-year-old man who was involved in the fatal shooting of a person who was found dead in a parking lot after being shot in the head.

Officials arrested the 28-year-old on Sunday.

The incident occurred at 10:15 a.m. on Feb. 9, 2025, in the 25000 block of Shiawassee Road after someone reported finding a person unresponsive in a parking lot.

When they arrived, first responders found the victim in the parking lot with what appeared to be a single gunshot wound to the head. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police described the 28-year-old man as 6′0″ tall, with a beard, and wearing a black winter hat.

Police believed the man and victim knew each other and did not believe there was any additional threat to the public.
