A 4Warn Weather Alert has been declared for Saturday and Sunday due to the weekend-long snowfall.
It will be snowy on Saturday morning. During the afternoon, temperatures will rise to the lower to mid 30s. With temperatures above freezing, there will be a chance of mixed precipitation or a brief transition to rain in Metro Detroit and south. Precipitation will also taper off during the afternoon and fill back in during the evening.
How much snow?
Snow totals will be in the 2-4 inch range by Saturday evening in Southeast Michigan. Snow totals through Sunday will be 2-4 inches in Lenawee and Monroe counties 4-7 inches in Metro Detroit and as much as 8 inches or more north of I-69.
Roads conditions will likely be slushy and slippery for much of the day. Saturday night will also be snowy. Lows will be in the lower 20s.
The long-duration snowfall is expected to last into Sunday afternoon in Metro Detroit. Highs will be in the mid 20 to 30 degrees and lows in the single digits.
