Rollover crash on Southfield Freeway near Plymouth Road leaves driver hospitalized

WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – A 19-year-old driver was sent to a hospital after a rollover crash on Southfield Freeway Tuesday afternoon.

Michigan State Police said the driver was speeding northbound on Southfield Freeway near Plymouth Road on Feb. 18, 2025, at around 1 p.m. when they lost control of the car, causing it to roll over.

Update: 19-year-old involved in rollover crash on Southfield Freeway near Plymouth Road dies

When troopers arrived at the scene, they found the driver partially ejected and trapped in the car. The driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The severity of their injuries is not known.

The freeway was shut down for the investigation and clean-up.
