Knife-wielding man robs Subway in Washtenaw County

SALINE, Mich. – A 59-year-old man is facing assault charges after reportedly robbing a Subway restaurant in Saline.

It happened just after 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 23, at the Subway on Michigan Avenue, between Industrial Drive and Maple Road. According to authorities, the man came in with a knife, took an undisclosed amount of cash and drove off in a black Chevrolet Equinox.

Shortly after the Saline Police Department posted a photo of the suspect on social media, he was identified and taken into custody in Milan.

On Monday, Feb. 24, John Fulton was charged with armed robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a concealed weapon. His bond was set at $30,000.

Fulton’s probable cause conference was scheduled for March 6.
