WAYNE COUNTY, Mich. – Bowling Green State University is offering in-state tuition to Wayne County students who meet at least one of three requirements.
Starting this fall (2025), undergrad students from Wayne County can attend Bowling Green for the same cost as Ohio residents if they meet at least one of the following three requirements:
- A minimum 3.00 cumulative high school GPS.
- A 20 ACT score.
- A 1040 SAT score.
Wayne County students who meet at least one of those requirements will receive $7,988 from BGSU to cover out-of-state fees, according to the university.
“As part of The Falcon Tuition Guarantee, the scholarship will be locked in for up to four years at the No. 1 public university in Ohio for student learning experience and opportunities, and the No. 1 public university in the Midwest students said they would choose again," a release said.
Bowling Green has seen “significant growth” in students from Southeast Michigan since launching this program in Monroe and Lenawee counties in 2022, according to the release.
“We are excited to continue our momentum in Southeast Michigan by expanding this scholarship to Wayne County students,” said Cecilia Castellano, vice president for enrollment management at BGSU. “With this expansion, more students from the Detroit area will be empowered to earn a BGSU degree and take part in our top-ranked student experience filled with comprehensive opportunities in one of America’s safest college towns.”
