GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – A 39-year-old man from Kalamazoo has been sentenced for selling fentanyl to a person who later died from an overdose.
Antjuan Pierre Jackson was convicted by a federal jury in November 2024 of fentanyl causing death and possession of 40 grams or more of fentanyl with intent to distribute.

Authorities called Jackson a “career offender” who had two prior convictions for unarmed robbery.
Prosecutors said that on Nov. 23, 2022, Jackson sold fentanyl to the victim who died of an overdose hours later. In December 2022, investigators found Jackson with more than 80 grams of fentanyl in his home. They also found cash, a digital scale, a cell phone, and packaging materials.
Jackson was sentenced Thursday, Feb. 27, 2025, to 324 years in federal prison, followed by four years of supervised release. He will also be required to pay a $2,000 fine.
