After a two-year hiatus from the music industry, GRiZ is back! Grant Kwiecinski (known by his stage name “GRiZ”), posted on his official Instagram account (@griz) on Monday a video with the caption “WE ARE SO BACK! Sign up to be the first to know more at the link in bio.” He is known for producing electronic music, specifically calling his style “future funk”.
Kwiecinski’s last post before that was from October 7, 2023, with the caption “Time to sign off for a while. This has truly been a life’s honor. See you all again. GRiZ fam for life.”

Within 24 hours, the post on Instagram received over 3.5 million views and 12.8 thousand comments. Fans in the comments expressed their excitement to finally see a post from Kwiecinski again.
Kwiecinski is a local legend in the Metro Detroit area. He was born and raised in Southfield, attending Birmingham Groves High School and Michigan State University. He currently resides in downtown Denver and in downtown Detroit.
In college, he was known to DJ parties at his friend’s fraternity houses and play shows in the East Lansing area. He became even more popular in 2011 with his debut album named “End of the World Party”.
Fans have multiple theories for what Kwiecinski has in store next. Until future plans are official, they are encouraging others to “show love, spread love”, a mantra made popular by GRiZ himself.
