Macomb County man charged in connection to multiple high-end car thefts, police say

MACOMB COUNTY, Mich. – A Macomb County man has been charged in connection to an ongoing criminal enterprise operation involving high-end car thefts, officials said.

Deon Brooks, 24, of Warren, was arrested on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, by detectives with the Macomb Auto Theft Squad (MATS), Macomb County Sheriff’s Office Enforcement Team (SET) and the Warren Police Department.

Detectives began investigating the case in December 2024 after high-end Cadillacs were stolen from the CVO Lot in Warren.

Brooks was linked to multiple vehicles that were stolen from the lot, valued at more than $1.5 million.

During the investigation, detectives also seized several printers, retagged equipment, fraudulent SOS documents, methamphetamine, jewelry and a Chrysler Pacifica, according to the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office.

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, Brooks was arraigned on the charge of conducting, which is a 20-year felony. His bond was set at $2 million, and he is lodged at the Macomb County Jail.

The sheriff’s office says Brooks is also on bond through the Romeo District Court for the same charge in connection with several instances of unlawful driving away of a vehicle from dealerships in Washington Township in February 2024.

The investigation is ongoing.
